Welcome to Leapin’ Labs!
This site is dedicated to our two Labrador Retrievers and their adventures with a 28,000 gallon pool of water and a dock. Midas is a 3.58 year old yellow lab and Mason is a 1.74 year old chocolate lab. In search of another form of fun exercise for the boys, we found dock jumping to be something that could be fun for the dogs as well as provide an excellent form of exercise.
I first got interested in dock jumping some time ago while watching a televised event with my dad. After hours and hours of research along with a lot of great advice from the wonderful people involved with organizations such as Ultimate Air Dogs, Splash Dogs, and Sport Mutt, we decided to attend an event. After that one event, we were hooked. We had a blast and the dogs loved it, and maybe both of our boys will someday excel in the sport.
As a way to chronicle the trip from concept to the research to actually competing in an event and all the training in between, we have created this website. Here you will find stories, photos and event results as well as tips that we have found along the way that have proven helpful.
